The Quiet Good Is Never Ordinary

In a village, a well once gave water freely — day after day, year after year. People stopped noticing its gift, until one summer it ran dry. Only then did they realize what they had lost.

Life is the same. The quiet good — the roof that doesn’t leak, the car that always starts, the message that says, “I’m home safe” — rarely announces itself. It whispers. And when we stop noticing, we risk mistaking consistency for entitlement.

Gratitude is found in the small things: a hand reaching for yours, laughter lingering in a room. These aren’t ordinary moments. They are the fabric of belonging, safety, and love.

Never take the good for granted. Because when you pause long enough to notice it, you realize the ordinary was never ordinary at all. It was everything.
